I took the Electrical Installation Technician course at Inforpreparação in Oeiras, Portugal.
I arrived in Portugal from Guinea-Bissau in 2020 and previously I had studied until the 11th grade. School has always been very important to me and I wanted to continue studying in Portugal. I opted for a vocational course so that I could get a job more easily once I finished the course. It was due the course that I got to know the company where I am currently working. The three work-based learning periods that I had during the course took place in this company. When I reached the end of the course, I was offered a full-time contract because I already knew the company’s team, its working methods and the owner liked my work.
To do my current job, it is important to be in good physical shape, to know how to work as a member of a team, and to have a willingness to learn. What I like least about my job is feeling physically tired at the end of the day. But I like the team, not always being on the same site and seeing the projects develop and be completed.
As I finished my training course recently and already knew the company where I work, I have not felt the need to study anything else yet to improve my professional performance.
